Corrections Policy

We get things right the first time as often as we can. When we don't, we correct the record promptly, transparently, and without defensiveness.

Our Commitment to Accuracy

ExpertPicked.com is committed to publishing accurate, verifiable information. We invest heavily in fact-checking and editorial review before publication precisely to minimize errors. But no publication is perfect, and product information changes rapidly — prices shift, specifications are updated, products are discontinued, and new research supersedes older findings.

When an error occurs — whether factual, typographical, or analytical — we correct it. We do not silently edit published content. We do not remove critical context. We do not bury corrections in the footer or in a small-print disclaimer. We correct visibly, note the change clearly, and — when the error was significant — explain what changed and why.

Types of Corrections

Minor Corrections

Typographical errors, grammatical mistakes, broken links, and minor formatting issues are corrected without a formal correction notice. These are considered maintenance edits that do not affect the substance of the article.

Factual Corrections

Any error in a factual claim — a product specification, a price, a study result, a company name, a statistic — is treated as a formal correction. We:

  • Correct the error in the article text immediately
  • Add a clearly formatted correction notice at the bottom of the article, noting what was changed and when
  • Update the article's "last updated" timestamp
  • If the error materially affected a product ranking or recommendation, we review and update the ranking accordingly

Retracted Content

In rare cases where an article cannot be corrected — because the foundational claims were substantially wrong — we may retract it entirely. Retracted articles are not deleted; they are replaced with a clear notice explaining why the content was retracted. We believe in maintaining an accurate public record.

Editorial Updates

Updates to reflect changes in the market — new product launches, discontinued models, price changes, new test data — are handled separately from corrections. These are labeled as updates, not corrections, and noted at the top of the article with an updated date. We perform these as part of our standard monthly review cycle or immediately upon discovery of a material change.

Disputed Claims & Disagreements

We welcome substantive challenges to our findings. If you believe a factual claim in one of our reviews is incorrect, or that our ranking of a product is demonstrably wrong, please contact us with:

  • The specific claim you dispute
  • Primary source evidence supporting the correct information
  • Any context that may be relevant to the dispute

Our editorial team will review the challenge within 5 business days. If the dispute is from a brand or manufacturer, we apply the same standard: we review the evidence and correct factual errors, but we do not change editorial assessments based on commercial pressure.

Disputes about analytical conclusions — "you should have ranked our product #1" — are reviewed against our published scoring criteria. If our process was applied correctly, the ranking stands. If we find a procedural error, we correct it.

How to Report a Correction

The fastest way to report an error is by email to our editorial team. Please include the article URL, the specific claim you believe is incorrect, and any supporting evidence.
