Safety & What to Know

PDE5 inhibitors such as sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil must never be combined with nitrate medicines (including nitroglycerin and “poppers”), because together they can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Common side effects include headache, flushing, a stuffy nose and indigestion; an erection lasting more than four hours needs emergency care.
